The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) – jointly the EIB Group – are joining forces with Inecobank to enhance access to finance for Armenian entrepreneurs and small businesses. The EIB Group will provide a partial portfolio guarantee to Inecobank under the EU4Business Guarantee Facility, a programme financially supported by the European Union to promote private sector development in the selected Eastern Partnership countries

The European Investment Bank’s development arm, EIB Global, has signed a €100 million loan with the Central Bank of Armenia to increase access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and mid-caps. The agreement – signed in Yerevan by Central Bank of Armenia Governor Martin Galstyan and Head of Division at EIB Global Marion Hoenicke – is backed by the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus (EFSD+).

The European Investment Bank (EIB Global) is supporting Angola’s vaccination campaign to protect around two million girls aged 9 to 12 against the human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer, with €50 million in financing. The campaign is also benefiting from an EU grant of €4.5 million. It is led by the country’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
