Digital transformation is becoming even more important in a context of the green transition which is now a key priority for small and medium businesses. Despite the challenges hindering the digital transformation of Romanian SMEs, including limited knowledge, digital skills and access to finance, there are positive strides in connectivity infrastructure. A historic opportunity to support SMEs to digitalise their business processes is available through the provision of additional targeted finance and the development of the innovation ecosystem.
