Construction of a new passenger terminal at Cork airport including hold baggage screening facility, landside development of access egress/roads, infrastructure services and car parking.
The existing Cork terminal has a design capacity of 1.1 million passengers per annum and was used by up to 1.9 million passengers in 2002. The project will provide capacity for 3 million passengers per annum, thus alleviating congestion on the terminal system and improving access and parking facilities.
The project is classified under Annex II of EUDirective 85/337 as amended by EU Directive 97/11 EC and has been subject to an Environmental Impact Study. In accordance with its normal procedure, the Bank will ensure that appropriate measures have been defined as regards environmental protection.
