Europe Day 2024
If the European Union had a birthday, we would blow all the candles (over 70 of them!) on the 9th of May, the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
Why was this declaration so revolutionary? Because it laid the foundation of a new idea of Europe, rooted in peace, unity and political cooperation, thus making war unthinkable.
Today, its message of peace and democracy is more important than ever. And at the EIB Group, we have an important role to play in supporting the EU's policies and promoting sustainable development.
This Europe Day matters even more because of the upcoming European elections, a unique chance for citizens to have their say on Europe’s place in the world.
What can you do as EIB ambassadors?
