About
Luxembourg is the third largest EIB donor. Since 2004, the country has committed a total of €101 million to six different EIB trust funds. Luxembourg provides financial support to the FEMIP Trust Fund (FTF), the EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-AITF) and the Economic Resilience Initiative Fund (ERIF). In 2017, Luxembourg and the EIB together launched the Luxembourg-EIB Climate Finance Platform (LCFP), a joint initiative aimed at financing high-impact climate action projects in developing regions. In 2019, Luxembourg initiated the Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF), a new trust fund that seeks to enhance microfinance lending in developing countries. Most recently, the country became an initial contributor to the City Climate Finance Gap Fund initiative (GAP).
