The purpose of INFRAGREEN IV is to invest in companies whose main objective is to acquire, finance, build and operate infrastructure projects mainly in the renewable energy or environmental sectors and related technologies (including but not limited to storage, network stabilization, smart grids, energy savings, waste to energy, waste treatment and recycling, wastewater, etc.), in addition to CO2 efficient mobility and logistic platforms, as well as any infrastructure projects linked to the ecological and climate transition (reduction of CO2 emissions and optimization of the use of natural resources).
INFRAGREEN IV is aimed at aligning two main drivers in the renewable energy field:
- The current market state & needs of our partners.
- The current market state is one of heavy flux, with shifts from subsidized renewable energy generation towards competition with fossil fuels, consequently decreased country risk criteria due to the relative detachment of the political sphere from renewables, decreasing bank leverage calling out for more equity participation, emerging opportunities in relation to the needs of climate change adaptation, a commencing consideration of global CO2 on infrastructure projects and strong renewables growth in eastern & southern European countries due to favourable political developments and high cost alternatives.
Our partner’s needs are apparent to us in the form of growing equity capital requirements, partnership searches for capital and risk pooling optimization, flexible finance sources across a diverse range of technologies, considerations towards the financing of circular & local economies and a need for pan-European presence support in countries with abundant natural resources.
INFRAGREEN IV will address the above needs by integrating the major evolutions of the energy and climate transition market while optimizing risk/return through the implementation of tailor-made financial solutions adapted to the need for flexibility and developments in CO2-efficient infrastructures, the development of a pan-European investment platform and the strengthening of long-term partnerships.
