By letter dated 18 September 2012, the Republic of Lithuania nominated:
- Ms Jurgita Uzielienė (Deputy Director/Acting Director of the European Union and International Affairs Department at the Ministry of Finance) for appointment as Full Member of the Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank to succeed Ms Miglė Tuskienė, who had tendered her resignation.
- acting by common accord with the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Sweden, Ms Dovilė Jasaitienė (Head of International Affairs Division of the European Union and International Affairs Department at the Ministry of Finance) for appointment as Alternate Member of the Board of Directors of the EIB to succeed Ms Jurgita Uzielienė, following the latter’s nomination as full Board member.
By letter dated 25 September 2012, the Board of Governors was invited to vote on the proposed appointments.
The decision to appoint Ms Jurgita Uzielienė and Ms Dovilė Jasaitienė was taken on 12 October 2012, the date on which the requisite majority of Governors votes was reached.
The term of office of Ms Jurgita Uzielienė and Ms Dovilė Jasaitienė will expire in 2013 at the end of the day either of the Annual Meeting or of the approval of the financial statements for the 2012 financial year, whichever is later.
