Following early parliamentary elections in Slovenia and the approval of the new Government by the Parliament on 18 September 2014, Mr Dušan Mramor has taken his position as Finance Minister. He also becomes EIB Governor for Slovenia.
Before his appointment, Mr Mramor was Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana. Previously, he served as Dean of this Faculty from 2007 to 2013 and as Chairman of the Board of the University of Ljubljana between 2000 and 2002 and from 2009 to 2013.
Mr Mramor already served as Minister of Finance from 2002 to 2004.
He was Head of the Ministry of Finance’s advisory group for the Privatisation of Insurance Companies in 2002 and also chaired the advisory group of the Ministry of Economy for the Privatisation of the Steel Industry in 2001.
Mr Mramor was a Research Associate and Visiting Scholar at the School of Business, Indiana University.
He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Ljubljana.
