In November 2025, the EIB Group Complaints Mechanism (EIB-CM) received a complaint from an individual in Spain. The complainant alleges that the wind farm project “Parque Eólico El Escudo” in Cantabria, Spain, violates environmental and social standards.
Work performed
The EIB-CM carried out an admissibility check to determine whether the complaint met the admissibility criteria under the EIB Group Complaints Mechanism Policy.
Conclusion
The EIB-CM concluded that the EIB has not financed, approved or is not at least actively considering financing the project, as per Article 4.3.12 of the EIB Group Complaints Mechanism Policy.
