    Description

    The project consists of an intermediated loan to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in turn promoting employment in Tunisia. Part of the loan will be dedicated to small investments in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

    Aspects environnementaux

    The operation will focus on small-size energy efficiency and renewable energy projects with, in principle, limited environmental impacts. National environmental legislation and the environmental & social due diligence procedures to be complied with by the borrowers will be confirmed during the appraisal, in order to ensure their compliance with the Bank's environmental and social policies.

    Passation des marchés

    The facility is targeting SMEs and mid-caps in the private sector; it is thus not expected to be subject to public procurement requirements. The procedures to address procurement will be further appraised to make sure they adequately mandate the Financial Institution (FI) and the sub-projects' promoters with implementing the operation in accordance with the Bank's Guide to Procurement.
