Description
Credit line for the financing of small and medium-scale ventures carried out by Tunisian private enterprises in sectors covered by the technopoles programme (e.g. renewable energy, biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry, IT, communications technology). It is also planned to set up a line of technical assistance under the Bank's FEMIP Facility.
Objectifs
This project forms part of the priority programme for the creation of a national technopole network with a view to meeting the demands of upgrading the country's industrial fabric and developing high value added services. As such, it will complement a project also currently being evaluated by the Bank, which aims to finance public sector schemes planned for the development of the technopole programme.

Loan from EIB own resources of approximately EUR 75m under the EUROMED II Mandate (2000-2007).
Coût total (montant approximatif)
The Bank will confine its funding to a maximum of 50% of the total cost of each project financed.
Aspects environnementaux
The projects will comply with EIB rules and borrowers will have to provide the information requested as standard by the Bank. No particular environmental impact is anticipated at the present stage of the project.
