The event is jointly organised by Ibec and the EIB as part of a series of engagements across Ireland to increase awareness and understanding of new EIB financing products available for Irish companies.
Venture debt financing is targeted at fast growing, innovative SMEs and mid-caps seeking to accelerate their growth and invest in research and development. The event is tailored to allow attendees to gain insights into the specific support the EIB can offer under this programme to Irish and Irish-based companies. It will also be an opportunity to engage directly with representatives of the EIB, CEOs and CFOs of innovative start-up companies, venture capital funds and other professional service firms.
The EIB is the world’s largest international public bank and the bank of the European Union. It is the largest venture debt provider in Europe, having financed so far more than 100 highly innovative early-stage European companies in critical phases of their development. The venture debt financing is provided under the Investment Plan for Europe, launched by the EIB in cooperation with the European Commission.
Besides an overview of the EIB and venture debt financing available, there will be case studies from existing Irish clients on their experience of working with the EIB and what this relationship has meant for their business. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to put questions to the senior EIB banking teams after the event.
