The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Government of Catalonia have signed a €300 million loan to advance works to extend Barcelona’s suburban train Line 8 operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC). This extension will connect the Plaça d’Espanya and Gràcia stations via a four‑kilometre tunnel, improving links with Baix Llobregat, Bages, Anoia and Vallès Occidental. The project will improve mobility and help better connect the entire Barcelona metropolitan area.

Working jointly with the European Commission, the European Investment Bank (EIB) has launched a technical advisory service via its EIB Advisory service to promote electric mobility and advance climate neutrality in six Spanish cities: Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Valladolid and Zaragoza.

La Banque européenne d’investissement (BEI) a signé un prêt d’amorçage-investissement de 30 millions d’euros en faveur de PLD Space, une entreprise internationale de transport spatial dont le siège est à Elche, en Espagne. Les fonds soutiendront la phase finale de développement de MIURA 5, la fusée de l’entreprise conçue pour placer de petits satellites en orbite.
