For many years, climate has been at the heart of EIB’s work in fostering European integration. One key way EIB helps the climate is through its leadership role in green bonds.
In 2016 Chinese issuers, EIB and its peers raised the largest amounts of green bonds. Therefore, EIB and China Green Finance Committee have sealed this White Paper which maps and compares the use of proceeds classifications of these two constituencies, establishing a common language for this type of investment.
The White Paper sets the scene for a broader debate that should ultimately lead to the establishment of a common language in green finance.
