Beschreibung

The project concerns the 2021-2025 investment programme into the production and distribution facilities of PWN, the fourth-largest water supply company in the Netherlands.

Ziele

The project will secure or enhance the quality of life of around 1.7 million residents in the region north-west of Amsterdam by improving the reliability and affordability of the water supply service. The project will ensure continued compliance with the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), the Drinking Water Directive (98/83/EC) and national norms.

Umweltaspekte

The investment programme is geared toward securing a sustainable management of water supply and distribution, bringing about a positive social and environmental impact. The upgrade of water treatment plants and transportation pipelines are examples of components with environmental/resource efficiency impacts. Compliance with EU and national environmental legislation will be verified during appraisal.

Auftragsvergabe

The Bank will require that the Promoter ensure that contracts for the implementation of the project have been and will be tendered in accordance with the relevant applicable EU procurement legislation: Directive 2014/25/EU, where applicable, as well as Directive 92/13/EEC, as interpreted by the Court of Justice of the EU, with publication of tender notices in the Official Journal of the EU, as and where required.
