Lithuania: EIB to advise on development of military base for NATO troops
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is teaming up with the Lithuanian government to support the development in Lithuania of the Rūdninkai military base, a key project to enhance North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) operations and regional security. Under an accord signed today in Vilnius, the EIB will provide advisory services to ensure that public-private partnership (PPP) agreements linked to the planned base near the border with Belarus meet market standards and follow best practices.
Estland: EIB, SEB und Luminor vergeben 62 Mio. Euro an Erneuerbare-Energien-Unternehmen Sunly für Solarstromausbau
Die Europäische Investitionsbank (EIB) und die beiden estnischen Geschäftsbanken SEB und Luminor vergeben gemeinsam 62 Millionen Euro an Sunly. Das Erneuerbare-Energien-Unternehmen baut und betreibt mit den Geldern einen Solarpark in Estland, der die grüne Wende und die Stromautarkie der baltischen Länder voranbringen wird. Die EIB vergibt einen 31-Millionen-Euro-Kredit an Sunly, die übrigen 31 Millionen Euro stammen von der SEB und Luminor.
Lithuanian firms invest strongly in building up climate change resilience, EIB Investment Survey shows
A large majority of Lithuanian firms have taken actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and tackle the impact of adverse weather events, according to the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group Investment Survey country results released today. The figure is 8 percentage points higher than the EU average. Lithuanian firms are also ahead of EU peers when it comes to innovation, leading with 10 percentage points above the EU average, the survey shows.
