The project concerns the acquisition of a fleet of some 5,000 new rail freight wagons.

This new fleet will complement AAE's existing fleet of rail freight wagons of approximately 25,000 wagons.

Umweltaspekte

The provision of improved rail freight services is expected to attract freight transport away from the roads. This would be environmentally beneficial as it reduces energy consumption, road congestion, noise and pollution and increases transport safety. The project should not have a negative impact on the environment.

Auftragsvergabe

The promoter is a privately owned company which leases its wagons to companies in the EU and CEE. As a private company, AAE is not subject to EU procurement directives.
