Am 17. Mai 2016 hat Volkswagen (VW) zwei EIB-Darlehen im Gesamtbetrag von 975 Millionen Euro vorfristig zurückgezahlt. VW machte damit von einem Recht Gebrauch, das in den Bedingungen und Modalitäten für diese Darlehen vertraglich vereinbart war. Die vorzeitige Rückzahlung der Darlehen ändert oder beeinträchtigt in keiner Weise die Geschäftsbeziehungen der EIB mit VW.
