The European Investment Bank (EIB) through its development arm EIB Global, has announced up to USD 95 million in financing for the development of ATOME’s Villeta Green H₂ Fertiliser Plant, a landmark project that will produce low‑carbon nitrogen fertilisers in Paraguay using green hydrogen generated from the country’s fully renewable electricity system. With an annual production capacity of around 260 000 tonnes of calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN), the project is set to become one of the first industrial‑scale green hydrogen fertiliser plants outside the European Union, and the world’s largest upon start of operations, demonstrating Europe’s global leadership in clean industrial technologies.

The European Investment Bank (EIB), through its development arm EIB Global, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the European Commission have announced a significant co‑financing package to modernise and reinforce Paraguay’s electricity transmission system. The operation will support the construction of the new 500/220 kV Emboscada substation and associated transmission lines. This strategic investment will strengthen the interconnected national system, improve security of supply for the metropolitan and central systems, and create the backbone for further renewable energy and interconnection projects.

Die Europäische Investitionsbank-Gruppe (EIB-Gruppe) – bestehend aus der Europäischen Investitionsbank (EIB) und dem Europäischen Investitionsfonds (EIF) – und die italienische Förderbank Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) haben heute ihre Absichtserklärung erneuert. Demnach wollen beide Einrichtungen ihre strategische Zusammenarbeit verstärken, um die langfristige Entwicklung Italiens und die Ziele der EU zu fördern. Die Absichtserklärung wurde im Rahmen des EIB-Forums in Luxemburg von EIB-Vizepräsidentin Gelsomina Vigliotti, der geschäftsführenden Direktorin des EIF Marjut Falkstedt sowie dem CEO und General Manager der Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Dario Scannapieco unterzeichnet. Anwesend war auch die Präsidentin der EIB-Gruppe Nadia Calviño. Damit bekräftigen beide Seiten ihren Willen, in einem für Europas Investitionsagenda entscheidenden Moment noch enger zusammenzuarbeiten.
