Netherlands: EIB supports Dutch A15 road extension
The European Investment Bank will contribute to the financing of the construction and upgrade of the final section of the A12 / A15 motorway in the eastern part of the Netherlands with a €500 million loan to the GelreGroen consortium, who was awarded the contract to design, build, finance and maintain the project over the coming two decades. The project finalises a key cross-country motorway corridor in the Netherlands, linking the Rotterdam harbour to the German border. As such, this stretch of motorway is located on the core TEN-T road network and on the Rhine-Alpine Corridor.
EU provides over €18 million to strengthen Ukraine’s municipal infrastructure
The EIB, the bank of the European Union, has disbursed €18.4 million to support essential public services in Ukrainian cities. The financing will fund energy-efficient renovation of schools, kindergartens and hospitals, helping these facilities use less energy, reduce costs and remain fully operational for the communities they serve. The funds are backed by an EU guarantee under the European Commission’s €50 billion Ukraine Facility.
Italy: Water infrastructure - Viveracqua Hydrobond 2025 closes sixth issue with total of €200 million
Viveracqua has completed its sixth bond issue of €200 million as part of the Hydrobond initiative. This most recent placement brings the total investment mobilised to modernise and improve the efficiency of Veneto’s integrated water service infrastructure to €2.4 billion since 2014. The issuance was fully subscribed by the European Investment Bank (EIB), with SACE’s Archimede guarantee. Banca Finint, alongside Cappelli Riolo Calderaro Crisostomo Del Din & Partners, acted as arranger and placement agent.
