Magí Llorenç Clavé Badia joined the European Investment Bank (EIB) as Director General of Group Information Systems on 1 May 2025.

He previously served as Chief Digital Officer at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, DC, driving digital transformation initiatives across the organisation and chairing the IMF’s Artificial Intelligence Coordination Committee.

Before this, he held the position of Deputy Director General, Information Systems at the European Central Bank (ECB), digitally transforming the institution, leading the operational implementation of the single supervision mechanism and maintaining operational excellence during the financial crisis.

Magí Clavé also has private sector experience, working as Director of IT at Deutsche Bank Spain for a decade.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer sciences from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona and an MBA from ESADE. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at IESE and Berkeley University.
