Die Europäische Investitionsbank (EIB) hat mit der Universität Lettlands eine Finanzierung über 25 Millionen Euro für den dritten Bauabschnitt des neuen Universitätscampus in Riga unterzeichnet. Dort will die Universität die meisten ihrer Bereiche auf einem Campus zusammenführen und moderne Einrichtungen für Lehre und Forschung bieten.

Among the challenges facing their country, Latvian respondents only ranked climate change eighth. Despite this, they recognise that climate adaptation has to be considered important, if not a priority, in the years to come. Nearly four in five Latvian respondents agree that investing in climate adaptation now is necessary to avoid higher costs in the long run, according to the annual Climate Survey commissioned by the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Die Europäische Investitionsbank (EIB), das lettische Finanzministerium und die staatliche Immobiliengesellschaft des Landes wollen gemeinsam das Angebot an bezahlbarem Wohnraum in Lettland ausweiten. Bei der Ausarbeitung ihres Sektorkonzepts erhält die lettische Regierung Unterstützung von den Beratungsdiensten der EIB. Dabei geht es vor allem um die Finanzierung, die Auftragsvergabe und die Entwicklung von Pilotprojekten, die für eine EIB-Finanzierung infrage kommen. Finanziert wird die Initiative durch die InvestEU-Beratungsplattform.
