    About the event

The European Commission – Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (DG EMPL) in partnership with the European Investment Bank (EIB) are pleased to invite you to the webinar ‘Crowdfunding and ESF opportunities: future perspectives for managing authorities’, taking place on 6 July 2020, from 14:00 until 16:15 CEST.

Defined as the practice of raising funds from a large number of individual investors using online platforms, crowdfunding is regarded as an alternative and innovative form of finance. In Europe, its importance is increasing year after year and new opportunities are arising also for managing authorities.

The webinar will elaborate on the possibilities offered by combining crowdfunding and European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF or ESI Funds), with emphasis on the European Social Fund (ESF). The panellists will highlight the potential benefits of enhanced cooperation between managing authorities and the crowdfunding industry, particularly via the adoption of financial instruments. Practitioners from the ground will also share examples of projects from around the European Union that have received financial support combining crowdfunding and ESIF financial instruments.

We will be collecting incoming questions ahead of the webinar and we will try to discuss as many as possible during the live session. If you would like to submit a question, you can do so on the registration page.
