The European Investment Bank Group (EIBG) brought together representatives from the public sector, the EU, banks and financial institutions, private sector and media for an interactive seminar to discuss how to promote green and inclusive growth in the Armenian micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector. The seminar also presented findings of recent EIB studies.
The first session explored the experiences of local MSMEs in accessing finance in Armenia and how the EIBG's activities are addressing these challenges. Using enterprise survey data, participants discussed the obstacles MSMEs face in obtaining financing and explored solutions to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
The second session examined the role of the financial sector in overcoming these constraints. It also highlighted strategies for expanding lending to green investments and underserved segments of the economy, including women, youth, and rural areas. Participants shared concrete examples and initiatives that are currently underway or about to be launched.
