Availability of fresh water in the Gaza Strip is amongst the lowest in the world. The Gaza Central Desalination Plant and Associated Works Programme was created to respond to this pressing humanitarian need and will provide 55 million cubic meters of drinking water a year. The leaflet gives an overview of the project’s main features and state of play in terms of expected impact, funding, management and implementation timeline. It also briefly describes the role of the various institutions and donors supporting the project.
