Beschreibung
The operThe operation is structured as a Multiple Beneficiary Intermediated Loan (MBIL) to support leasing and financing of zero-emission trucks and buses, primarily in Germany, while not excluding other EU countries.
Ziele
The aim is to finance zero-emission battery-electric trucks and busses to support the transformation to sustainable mobility. The market for battery-electric trucks is at an early stage of development with high upfront costs. By financing leasing companies, the EIB plays a significant role in supporting the deployment of electric vehicles in the EU market, thereby also helping the scaling up of electric truck production while reducing costs. The project contributes 100% to Climate Action and Environmental Sustainability and is thus eligible under Article 309 point (c) common interest. It also contributes to the EIB's Transport Lending Policy and Climate Bank Roadmap, as well as sustainable and decarbonised road transport, thereby also supporting EU policy objectives.
