The EIB will host a meeting of the URBACT II Jessica for Cities ("J4C") Working Group in Luxembourg. J4C Partners have been working to determine how European cities can draw the maximum benefit from JESSICA, and conversely how JESSICA could be structured, having regard to existing Structural Fund Regulations, to best accommodate the needs of cities.
The invitation to attend and contribute to the Workshop is extended to other interested parties and to the consultants who have carried out or are completing JESSICA Evaluation Studies on behalf of the Managing Authorities under the guidance of the European Commission (DG-Regio) and of the EIB JESSICA Task Force.
The workshop will provide the opportunity to discuss the progress in JESSICA and the J4C Working Group, emphasising the central role of cities for the successful implementation of financial engineering instruments for sustainable urban development in the 2007-2013 programming cycle.
