Spain: EUR 300 million for public investment in Asturias

EIB Vice-President Carlos da Silva and Region's President Vicente Álvarez Areces sign EUR 300 million finance contract for public investment in Asturias

The European Investment Bank has approved a loan of 300 million euros to the Principality of Asturias, designed to promote a series of investments over the 2009-2012 period.

The President of the Principality, Vicente Álvarez Areces and EIB Vice-President Carlos Da Silva Costa, signed on October 5th the finance contract in the EIB headquarter (Luxembourg).

The project will boost economic growth, job creation and competitiveness of the region through investments in a broad range of economic sectors such as health and education, culture, urban renewal, sustainable mobility, innovation and research and sustainable use of natural resources.
