Success will require unity, ambition and smart investment. How can Europe lead globally while driving reform at home? How can member states align national strategies with shared EU priorities? • 16:00-17:00 CET – Panel discussion – Advancing global health equity – centred on women and children
We live in a world where a child’s survival and life expectancy depend more on their birthplace than medical advances. In 2020, nearly 800 women died each day from preventable pregnancy-related causes. The global women’s health gap affects 3.9 billion women due to delayed diagnoses, limited access to gender-specific care, and underfunded research. While new maternal health innovations and technologies offer hope, closing this gap demands coordinated policy, leadership, and scalable solutions to ensure these advances benefit everyone, especially in low- and middle-income countries. The discussion will explore collaborative solutions, highlighting promising examples from financial services, social infrastructure investments, research and innovation.

The EIB is preparing a pan-European Trade and Investment Initiative that calls for close coordination with Export Credit Agencies, EU companies and international partners across critical sectors.
