Conference CSI-Europe towards 2014 – 2020 Financial Instruments for Cities

The EIB hosted a conference on financial instruments, and how they can be included in future city planning and governance, on 30 and 31 January.

Most participants were members of URBACT, a European exchange and learning programme focused on sustainable city development. Speakers included Barbara Crome and Ricardo Pinheiro, representatives from DG Regio, as well as Des Gardner, Lead Expert at the CSI (City Sustainable Investment) Europe network.  

The conference showed how financial instruments can be included in municipal authority planning and demonstrated practical applications from several cities, with housing and energy efficiency as core themes.
