Tapani Tölli, new Governor for Finland

Mr Tapani Tölli, Minister for Public Administration and Local Government, has recently been appointed EIB Governor for the Republic of Finland, succeeding Ms Kiviniemi.

Born in 1951, in Sievi, Finland, Mr Tapani Tölli is Member of the Finnish Parliament for Tyrnävä, representing the Centre Party. He was previously the Tyrnävä municipal manager. Mr Tölli is currently the Minister for Public Administration and Local Government in the government led by Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi, having been chosen by Ms Kiviniemi to fill the vacancy left by herself. Mr Tölli has been a Member of Parliament since the 2003 parliamentary elections. He has a Master’s degree in political science. He holds a military rank as major.
