On a proposal from the President approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting on 5 February 2013, Mr Edward Bannerman has been appointed Alternate Expert Member of the Board of Directors to succeed Mr Eneko Landaburu who had tendered his resignation.

Mr Edward Bannerman holds a Master’s degree in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics.

He is currently Economic Adviser to the EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission. During his professional career, Mr Bannerman served as a member of the Cabinet of Trade Commissioner Baroness Catherine Ashton and as Economic and Financial Counsellor at the UK Embassy, in Paris. In February 2005, he was appointed Head of EU better regulation at HM Treasury in London. Previously, Mr Bannerman held the position of Team Leader in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit in London from April 2002 to January 2005.

The term of office of Mr Edward Bannerman will expire in 2013 at the end of the day either of the Annual Meeting or of the approval of the financial statements for the 2012 financial year, whichever is the later.
