Cities and urban investors have been severely hit by the current recession. The EIB conference "European cities in recession and recovery: the role of JESSICA and EU structural instruments" provided an opportunity to discuss the impact of the recession on European cities. It also underlined how European instruments could assist them in tackling its effects and move towards a long-term recovery.

The session gave the opportunity to discuss which EU instruments are available and how they can be activated to assist urban investors and city managers in the recession and beyond.
