The European Investment Bank’s Complaints Mechanism (CM) will host an Outreach meeting with Civil Society Organisations on 18 October 2011 in Brussels.
The EIB CM is the Independent Accountability Mechanism of the EIB providing a comprehensive tool enabling resolution of disputes to members of the public who are, or feel, affected by the Bank's decisions.
The outreach meeting with NGOs is an opportunity for the EIB CM to meet and explain comprehensively its work and procedures and engage with a broad assembly of interested NGOs.
The agenda of the meeting will cover a general explanation of the Mechanism, the reasons for its existence and the importance of outreach to NGOs, commonalities and points of divergence with other Accountability Mechanisms and deal with some recent cases that have been handled. Representatives of peer Accountability Mechanisms will attend and participate in the debate. Broad opportunity for feedback from NGOs and debate is provided for.
Registration
The seminar is open to all interested civil society stakeholders. Places are, however, limited and priority will be given to those participants that register first.
Closer to the date of the seminar, participants will receive an email with further practical information.
