Dialogue with Civil Society Organisations

  •  Date: 22 February 2011
  •  Location:
    Scotland House, Rond-Point Schuman, 6
    Brussels
    Belgium

The EIB had the pleasure to invite civil society organisations to a dialogue, presenting EIB’s 2010 activities and to discuss perspectives for 2011, with a particular emphasis on issues of interest to civil society. The event was chaired by Vice-President Philippe de Fontaine Vive, EIB's management committee member responsible for the Bank’s relationship with civil society organisations.

Particular emphasis was placed on issues of interest to civil society, such as human rights, the environment and transparency. Amongst other achievements in 2010, Mr de Fontaine Vive highlighted the approval of a new transparency policy and the inclusion of human rights in the complaints mechanism. The EIB Annual Briefing for CSOs provides a forum for exchange of ideas and information and is a good example of how the Bank interacts with civil society.
