"An industrial policy for Europe ?"

Economic and Financial Studies (EFS) supports the Bank's strategic decision-making through targeted research in economics and finance. EFS also participates in international fora and maintains laison with counterparts in other international organisations.

The aim of the 2006 EIB Conference on Economics and Finance is to review the economic arguments for and against industrial policy, the instruments available, the complementarities with other forms of public interventions and how effective various alternatives approaches have been in practice.
