The European Investment Bank, in collaboration with The European Money and Finance Forum (SUERF), will host its Annual Economics Conference “Investment and Investment Finance" in Luxembourg on Thursday 23 November.

The European economy is recovering. Does this mean it is already time to stop worrying about investment? Or is it too early? Or is now precisely the time to step up targeted investment to tackle the longer-term challenges we face? Examining the latest evidence on investment and investment finance in Europe, including the EIBIS survey, this conference will debate how we can continue to strengthen the financial sector and improve the resilience of corporate finance, to ensure that innovative firms get the finance they need and help address the deficits in skills that increasingly hold back private sector investment and growth.

This event will bring together high-level policymakers, economists and leading market players, to openly discuss one of the most pressing and challenging economic policy topics today. With the EIB being the key institution in Europe, devoted to support investment, we sincerely hope the discussion will help shaping increased successful policy responses. The conference will be held under the Chatham House Rules and the working language will be English.
