Italy: EIB and FiberCop: €1 billion agreement to accelerate ultrafast broadband development
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a financing package of up to €1 billion for FiberCop, the company that manages the most advanced and extensive digital infrastructure in Italy, to expand and modernise the national ultrafast broadband network.

La Banca europea per gli investimenti (BEI), in collaborazione con l’Associazione Bancaria Italiana (ABI), Confindustria, e Confindustria Campania, ha organizzato a Napoli l’evento “La BEI per la ZES Unica: coesione, innovazione e sostenibilità,” con l’obiettivo di rafforzare la cooperazione istituzionale e finanziaria a sostegno degli investimenti nella Zona Economica Speciale Unica, che dal 1° gennaio 2024 comprende le regioni del Mezzogiorno e parte del Centro Italia.
Malta: EIB backs with €100 million energy transition through second electricity interconnector with Italy
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is supporting Malta’s energy transition by enhancing the country’s electricity infrastructure, boosting security of supply, and facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources. To this end, EIB Vice-President Marek Mora and Malta’s Minister for Finance Clyde Caruana have announced today a €100 million financing agreement to support the development of Malta’s second electricity interconnector with Italy (IC2).
