Promoting dialogue

We organise events to bring together experts and stakeholders to share insights and debate the policy responses that are needed to address the economic challenges facing Europe and the globe. Details on past and forthcoming events can be found in the calendar.

Our flagship event is the regular EIB Economics Conference to catalyse high-level dialogue on the situation of investment and investment finance in Europe.

We hold many national-level events across Europe to discuss national investment trends and policy issues, drawing particularly on the EIBIS data.

We maintain a network of high-level economists that meet twice a year under the auspices of the EIB Economics Advisory Group. The Department also organises many events to promote the sharing of views and deepening of understanding on the financing challenges and needs present in different Member States.

We also work with other stakeholders as part of the Vienna Initiative to help safeguard the stability of the financial sector in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

Banking sector roundtables focus on identifying the challenges and solutions for banking sectors and investors in regions outside the EU, such as in Mediterranean Partner countries, South-Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The EIB Economics Conference

The EIB Economics Department organises a high-level annual conference to bring together leading researchers and key stakeholders. Investment and investment finance in Europe is the central theme, with each conference also addressing a topical issue.
