Spain and the EIB
The EIB has worked with Spain since 1981. We upgraded key infrastructure, hospitals and universities. We financed innovation and digitalisation.
During the pandemic, we helped HIPRA to develop its COVID-19 vaccine and Galenicum produce new medicines.
We also further enhanced access to finance for SMEs and provided funds to regions to face higher healthcare costs.
As the EU climate bank, we also invest into clean technologies. The new photovoltaic plants by Solaria and low-carbon trains by Talgo are two good examples of our commitment to sustainability.
