Investment Facility for the Pacific

About

The Investment Facility for the Pacific (IFP) finances key infrastructure projects in the Pacific region with a focus on climate-related investments. The IFP also funds projects supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as part of an effort to boost regional employment and strengthen social services in the region. The IFP relies on grant funding from the EU. These grants allow the facility to leverage loans and other financial instruments from development finance institutions, local governments and the private sector.

The Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

What is blending?

Blending involves the strategic use of a limited amount of grant resources to catalyse additional financing for development projects. Grants are often combined with loans, equity, beneficiary resources or other forms of financing, with the aim of de-risking projects and making them bankable. Blending allows partners to get the most out of their grant resources and enhance their overall development impact.
