External Energy Security and Economic Development

In line with EU’s priorities, the Bank’s energy activities in Neighbour and Partner countries focus on the following:

• Support the objective of creating a pan-European Energy Community with Neighbour countries. This objective is largely covered through TEN-E projects  
• Support the EU objective of enhancing security of energy supply in the EU
• Develop a pipeline of climate change projects in these countries, mainly energy efficiency and renewable energy projects
• Improve access of the population of these countries to modern energy sources, in particular the poorest segments of the population.
