The EIB ACP Water Project Preparation Facility, managed by the EIB, contributes to identify and prepare water and sanitation projects and promotes wider access to water and sanitation facilities.
The EU-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund, managed by the EIB, is an innovative instrument that supports the development of cross-border and regional infrastructure projects in sub-Saharan Africa, improving interconnectivity, facilitation regional integration and promoting South-South trade.
The Risk Capital Facility, co-managed by the EIB, promotes South African small and medium-sized enterprises operated by persons previously disadvantaged under the apartheid regime, supporting the country’s black economic empowerment (BEE) programme.
The following initiatives are not exclusively dedicated to ACP countries:
The EIB/KfW EUR 100m Carbon Fund focuses on programmes eligible under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanisms (DCM) and located in least developed countries.
The Energy Sustainability and Security of Supply Facility enables the EIB to commit up to EUR 3bn from its own resources for projects in developing countries on top of its 2008-2013 external lending mandates. The Facility promotes the transfer of clean technologies between the EU and developing countries.
The Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund, advised by the EIB Group, provides global risk capital through private investments for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in developing countries and economies in transition
