Environmental aspects
The project should fall under the scope of Directive 2011/92/EU, Annex II. The specifics of the context, and the environmental reporting and approval requirements of the Italian authorities, will be confirmed at appraisal, as will the project's sensitivity to climate risks.
Procurement
One of the promoters of the project is a private company not operating in the Utilities sector, while the other promoter is ultimately owned by the Italian government. It will be confirmed at appraisal that the procedures employed are in accordance with the Bank's procurement guidelines.
