Equity participation in a closed-end private equity fund targeting small to medium-sized enterprises primarily located in Indian Ocean countries (Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comores) and in West Africa (initial focus on Ghana).
Objectives
The Fund will promote the expansion and strengthening of private small and medium-sized businesses. The Fund will primarily be used to acquire majority stakes in enterprises with business activities in the following sectors: tourism and hospitality, financial services, infrastructure and utilities, agro industry and ICT. The fund manager will seek to create value by driving the growth and profitability of investee companies as well as their strengthened enterprise skills and governance, environmental and social standards.
The Fund’s operational guidelines provide for environmental and social due diligence of investee companies according to guidelines acceptable to the Bank.
