    Procurement

The project falls under Annex I of the EIA Directive 85/337/EEC as amended by Directives 97/11/EC and 2003/35/EC, being subject to an assessment in accordance with Articles 5 to 10 of the EIA Directive. An EIA has already been carried out in 1997-2000 following the legislation in place at that time. The Act No. 244/1992 Coll. on the Environmental Impact Assessment applicable at that moment was managed by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic.

EU procurement directives (2004/17/EC, 2004/18/EC) have been transposed into Czech legislation by the Act No. 137/2006 Coll. The contract notices for the international open tender were published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). The main construction contracts for the four lots were published in the OJEU under the reference numbers 2007/S169-208407 (lot 1), 2008/S210-279004 (lot 2), 2008/S233-309389 (lot 3) and 2006/S77-080624 (lot 4). The procurement process is acceptable to the Bank.
