    Description
    Objectives

Investments for the deployment of a wireless broadband network in the CZ.

The project concerns the promoter’s nationwide rollout of a mobile network based on 3G / UMTS technology. The network will also enable high-speed mobile broadband service up to 21 Mbit/s for 70% of the Czech population.

    Environmental aspects
    Procurement

The project does not fall under Annex I or II of EIA directive 85/337/EEC, amended by directives 97/11/EC and 2003/35/EC. Mobile network deployments have limited residual environmental effects. ICNIRP thresholds are considered as appropriate at an international level. Further details will be assessed during appraisal.

According to utility directive 2004/17/EC the Telecom sector is exempt from public procurement procedures due to its competitive nature. Hence the purchasing of the private promoter is not regulated. The effectiveness of the applied procedures applied will be assessed during appraisal.
