Berufsschulen Hamburg PPP

New building, extension or extensive remodelling of 14 vocational schools for about 17,200 pupils. Implementation, operation and maintenance will be structured as a PPP with a 25 years concession period.
To increase the quality of educational services and the efficiency of operations of the individual schools, and to better align their capacity with demand.

Environmental aspectsSchools are not specifically mentioned in the EIA Directive on Environmental Impact Assessment, though the project is covered by Annex II of the Directive in relation to urban development. The Bank’s services will verify during appraisal the EIA screening decision of the Competent Authority.
The Bank requires the promoter to ensure that all relevant contracts for the implementation of the project have been tendered in accordance with the relevant EU procurement legislation.
