    Description
    Objectives

The project includes design, manufacturing, construction and operation of the Internal Combustion Engines Power Plant (ICE Plant) at the Dekeleia Power Station in Cyprus.

The project is expected to help cover peak demand for electricity in Cyprus and improve quality of services provided by the promoter to its clients at a competitive cost.

    Environmental aspects
    Procurement

The EIA study was prepared for the project in 2007/2008. The study did not find impacts that are unacceptable or that cannot be mitigated appropriately. The selected peak load plant technology is the most energy efficient option available under local conditions in Cyprus.

The tender concerning the Dekeleia investment project was announced in the OJEU No. 2007/S 179-219314. The contract was awarded in November 2007 and announced in the OJEU No. 2008/S 70-093917. Details of the applied procurement procedure will be subject of appraisal.
