The European Investment Bank regrets to inform you that the above mentioned conference planned on Thursday 26 April is postponed.
The 11th FEMIP Conference will now take place on Thursday 25 October 2012. Please note this new date in your diary. The formal invitation and programme will follow in September.
The EIB and the Jordan Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities will organise a one-day conference on how to promote sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean and meeting people’s expectations of job creation and long-term development in the aftermath of the Arab spring.
The tourism industry cannot ignore the environmental concerns (climate change, water scarcity…) facing the Mediterranean region. Appropriate policies need to be developed, possibly involving difficult choices and large investments, if the future of tourism in the region is to be safeguarded.
The event will challenge businesses and governments to address sustainability issues in the tourism sector, presenting case studies and success stories from around the Mediterranean and beyond.
